For children born with a laryngeal cleft, the path to diagnosis and effective treatment is often complex and prolonged.

Laryngeal clefts may be undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for months or even years, particularly in milder cases. More severe clefts typically require multidisciplinary care and surgical intervention.

The Journeys collection preserves patient and family experiences with laryngeal clefts. These narratives provide insight into symptoms, diagnosis, treatment decisions, outcomes, and daily life from both patient and caregiver perspectives. Together, they form a growing record of lived experience across the spectrum of laryngeal cleft types and severity.

LCI honors every laryngeal cleft hero, their family, and the healthcare professionals who supported their care. Each journey is unique, and we are grateful to the families who share their experiences to help others better understand this condition.
