Journey Submissions
Sharing our journeys is important. Personal stories help others by spreading awareness, knowledge, and most of all, hope. Thank you for sharing your laryngeal cleft journey.
To submit a journey, please complete the Journey Release and Consent Form below and then email your story and images to: journeys@laryngealcleft.org.
Consider Including
symptoms, diagnosis, treatments
general location (state, province, or country) where the hero was born and received care
any details you feel are important
images (no more than 10)
Timeframe
If your journey includes an intervention, please wait at least six months before submitting in order to capture the full recovery process, complications, and any new developments.
Cleft Types
Journeys will be categorized using one of the two common laryngeal cleft classification systems.
Severe Clefts
Type 3 and type 4 journey submissions must include a surgical report (PDF) detailing the cleft type and repair method. This information will only be used to ensure accurate classification and will not be published.
Providers/Facilities
LCI does not vet, endorse, or publish the names of specific healthcare professionals or facilities in hero journeys.

By submitting this form, I confirm that I am either the legal guardian of the individual described or the individual described in this submission, and that I have the right to share this story.
I understand that I am sharing my journey with LCI and grant permission for LCI to use, publish, reproduce, display, and preserve the submitted text, images, and related materials for non-commercial educational and awareness purposes.
This permission is perpetual, non-exclusive, and royalty-free, and it includes use by LCI as well as any future organization, partner, or platform that may continue this educational work.
I understand that submissions may be edited for clarity, formatting, or anonymity while preserving their clinical meaning. I also understand that I may request removal of my submission at any time by contacting LCI.
