Idaho Proclaims Laryngeal Cleft Awareness Day
LCN is pleased to announce that Feb. 4, 2025, has been proclaimed Laryngeal Cleft Awareness Day in the state of Idaho. This is an important step to increasing awareness of this congenital birth defect, and we appreciate Gov. Brad Little for issuing this proclamation.
The proclamation was requested and facilitated by laryngeal cleft parent and LCN Co-Founder Carolyn Schultz:
“I am very grateful to Idaho Gov. Brad Little for issuing this proclamation. This is the first time a state has formally recognized laryngeal cleft and brought attention to this hidden cleft. Laryngeal clefts are more common than people realize, so it’s important that we start bringing awareness to this condition. Children can suffer for months, years, and even decades before being diagnosed and LCN was founded to help change that fact.”
LCN would like to thank the entire laryngeal cleft community for their support. We are grateful to the many people who are involved in our efforts and we look forward to working together to improve the lives of individuals born with a laryngeal cleft. Together, we are closing the gap.
